Founded in 2014 by long-time friends Leah and Shoshana, SPOTLIGHT quickly became the go-to interior design and home staging company in the area. The duo’s collaboration came alive while volunteering their expertise for community-wide charitable events transforming simple spaces into venues beyond expectations.
As a premier Baltimore staging company, SPOTLIGHT found it important to add value to the local Stager community. The company has had the opportunity to bring RESA (Real Estate Staging Association) into Baltimore and create the Greater Baltimore Area Chapter. RESA is a global community of professional home stagers, redesigners, decorators and real estate professionals who are committed to advancing professionalism and excellence in real estate staging. Leah Donaty grew up in Mexico City and has years of experience in the business world, allowing her to develop professional skills and business experience. Her emphasis on functionality and keen intuition help the team create innovative designs. As a mother of four, Leah also understands family needs in the home. “I love delighting people with creative, unexpected design solutions.”
About Shoshana
Shoshana Schmell has been working for the Baltimore community for over 20 years, and was certified as a Home Staging Expert by Lori Matzke in New York in 2013. With a background as an educator and a love for houses and renovations, this mother of five adds a personable, sophisticated, and family-centered touch to Spotlight’s designs.
